Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager

 

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Other duties, as assigned by area management.
  • Solid command of monthly and annual accounting closes and reporting.
  • Monthly analysis and reconciliations of key accounting and billing accounts, and preparation of annual audit schedules.
  • Oversee the billing of all monthly invoices, new customer set ups, customer updates and collections.
  • Ensure internal controls are in place and maintained to assure accuracy of Financials, Job Cost, A/P, Billings and Payroll.
  • Input journal entries, run reports, adjusting entries and analysis, as needed.
  • Process payroll and bi-weekly payroll uploads, to include all incentive payments.
  • Updates to accounting and billing system tables.
  • Coordinate corporate tax filings with outside accounting firm and prepare sales and use tax filings and other monthly or quarterly filings.
  • Work with the financial system and resolve system issues
  • Have a thorough understanding of customer billing requirements, pricing, and contractual requirements.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, problems, collection issues or billing discrepancies for larger accounts.
  • Ability to identify procedural deficiencies and implement corrective actions, where necessary.
  • Driving financial system improvements and enhancements
  • Support senior management with special projects, analysis, requests, and other duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’ s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 10+ year’ s relevant experience with accounting and financial systems handling all the modules, G/L, Journal entries, Billing, A/R, A/P, Payroll, Job Cost, etc.
  • Experience working in a growing start up environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.
  • Merger and acquisition finance experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in building and developing teams, and business partnering [required]
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills [required]
  • Experience and familiarity with startup companies preferred.
