Handl Health - Operations Associate

About the Role
Handl Health is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Associate to support and manage critical operational areas within our growing startup. This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their career or pursuing an evening MBA to gain exposure to startup operations and business management. You will work closely with our leadership team and play a key role in ensuring our business runs efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

Finance Operations

  • Assist with financial metrics reporting and support strategic financial planning.
  • Manage and monitor company financial accounts to ensure accurate and timely transactions.
  • Work closely with our accountants to oversee accounts receivable, including generating and tracking invoices through accounting software.
  • Collaborate with accountants on payroll administration, including tracking and processing commissions.

Legal and Compliance

  • Collaborate with legal counsel to review and manage contracts, including employment offers, sales orders, and data privacy policies.
  • Maintain records of contracts and compliance-related documentation in organized systems.
  • Support processes for obtaining and maintaining necessary business insurances.

Human Resources and Recruiting

  • Assist with payroll administration for employees and contractors, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies, including the employee handbook and PTO guidelines.
  • Streamline contractor management, onboarding, and invoicing processes.
  • Support recruitment efforts, including drafting job descriptions, managing interview processes, and onboarding new hires.
  • Distribute company-wide communications related to holidays, time off, and other updates

Marketing and Sales Support

  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure accurate and timely processing of sales orders and contracts.
  • Create and manage internal marketing documents, newsletters, and communication decks.

Leadership and Administrative Support

  • Coordinate and track leadership and board meetings, including creating meeting agendas and comprehensive decks.
  • Manage tools and subscriptions required for business operations.
  • Assist with office management tasks such as booking conference rooms and resolving issues with office services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in operations, business management, or a similar role.
  • Interest in working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and familiarity with operational tools.
  • Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and work independently.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $65,000 per annum
  • Equity: Commensurate with experience
  • Time Off: Two weeks of paid vacation, family and medical leave, and company-wide holidays.
  • Health Benefits: Monthly ICHRA stipend of $500 for medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Other Benefits:
    • $1,000 annual professional development reimbursement.
    • $500 home office setup stipend.
    • Flexible hybrid work model: 3 days in-office, 2 days WFH (for Los Angeles-based employees); fully remote options available for candidates outside of Los Angeles.
